Implementation Specialist

Lubbock, TXFull-time, salaried$65k–$85k

Onsite at customer sites, with a home base at Lab94's Lubbock office

Apply for this role

// About Lab94

Lab94 Technology is a Lubbock-based technology firm that builds custom software and runs IT for local businesses: manufacturers, energy service companies, and growing operators across West Texas. We don't sell off-the-shelf products and walk away. We build platforms around how our customers actually work, and we keep improving them as the business changes.

// The role

The Implementation Specialist is the person our customers know by name. You'll own a book of 5–10 customer accounts and spend most of your week inside their operations: on the shop floor, in the field office, at the front desk. You'll become the expert on the software we build for them, train their people to use it well, and be their first call when something isn't working.

Just as important, you're our eyes and ears. Because you're there every week, you'll see the workarounds, the spreadsheets nobody mentioned, and the manual steps that eat someone's afternoon. Your job is to turn those observations into clear, well-scoped opportunities: fixes, improvements, and new software that make the customer's business run better.

// What you'll do

Own your customers

  • Serve as the primary point of contact and liaison for 5–10 assigned customers
  • Spend most of the work week onsite with customers on a regular rotation
  • Build trusted relationships with owners, managers, and the frontline staff who use our software every day
  • Run regular check-ins and keep a clear picture of each account's health, priorities, and open issues

Implement and train

  • Lead rollout of new platforms and features: configuration, data setup, go-live support
  • Train customer staff in person, and create simple guides and how-to material they can keep
  • Become a true expert in every platform Lab94 builds for your accounts

Support and triage

  • Handle first-line support: reproduce issues, resolve what you can, and escalate the rest to engineering with clear, actionable tickets
  • Perform hands-on QA of new releases in the customer's real environment before and after rollout
  • Follow issues through to resolution and close the loop with the customer

Find the next opportunity

  • Observe workflows and document pain points, manual processes, and gaps in current software
  • Write up improvement and new-build opportunities with enough context (who, what, why, and value) for engineering and leadership to scope and price
  • Bring customer feedback into product decisions and help prioritize what gets built next

// What success looks like

First 30 days

You know every platform in your book of accounts, have met the key people at each customer, and are handling first-line support.

First 90 days

Customers call you first. You've led at least one rollout or training, and you've surfaced several well-documented improvement opportunities.

Ongoing

Your accounts renew and expand, support tickets reaching engineering are clean and reproducible, and a steady share of Lab94's new work traces back to opportunities you identified.

// What we're looking for

Required

  • 2+ years in implementation, customer success, technical support, solutions consulting, or a similar customer-facing technical role
  • Comfort learning complex software quickly and explaining it to non-technical people
  • Strong written communication: you can turn a messy conversation into a clear ticket or a one-page proposal
  • Ability to manage several customers at once without dropping threads
  • Professional, steady presence in a range of settings, from a manufacturing floor to an owner's office
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel between Lubbock-area customer sites

Nice to have

  • Experience with web applications, databases, or basic SQL; familiarity with how software gets built and tested
  • Background in IT support (Microsoft 365, networking, printers and devices) — our customers' problems don't always stop at the app
  • Experience writing great user manuals and/or creating video explanations

// Who thrives here

Someone who is curious about how businesses actually run, who enjoys being out with people rather than behind a ticket queue, and who gets real satisfaction from spotting a problem nobody else noticed and getting it fixed. You'll have a lot of autonomy and direct access to the people who build the software. Self agency is a requirement. You should be actively looking for ways to improve internal processes and customer processes.

// Compensation and benefits

  • Base salary: $65,000–$85,000, depending on experience
  • Performance bonus tied to account retention, customer satisfaction, and new work generated from your accounts
  • Mileage reimbursement, plus phone stipend
  • Laptop and equipment provided
  • Paid time off and holidays
